El Silencio de las Cosas Presentes, Collapse – Fragment 1
A performative study that questions the human condition, born out of the reflection and need to talk about the fragility of bodies, about transformation, about collapses, about the fall(s), about the change in the way of being present and celebrating life.

The action of falling and letting go is taken as the initial metaphor that propitiates the development of this fragment of the work. A constant vibration that intensifies over time, and which causes the state of presence to be modulated throughout the performance, is the path that precipitates bodily and sound responses for this first essay on the fall.

Eduardo Ruiz Vergara, is the founder and co-director of Estantres Danza in Bogota, a recipient of numerous scholarships and recognitions whose work has been presented in Latin America, Europe and Canada. Eduardo has signed a score of artistic creations since 2001. His work leads him to explore the interrelationships between sound, image and movement. Through his practice and research as a full-time doctoral candidate at Université du Québec à Montréal, UQAM, Eduardo attempts to understand how conscious sensory experimentation, in particular haptic concepts and experiences make it possible to develop a pedagogical approach and an anchored method of interdisciplinary choreographic creation.

Eduardo’s Doctoral research project is titled
‘Esthétique des interactions: L'expérience corporelle performative comme lieu de mémoire et d’oubli or Aesthetics of interactions: Performative bodily experience as a place of memory and forgetfulness.
