Sound of Stockholm presents: Toncirkeln

Toncirkeln is a workshop for building instruments for children aged 8-12 years.

We make use of easy accessible and inexpensive materials from everyday life to create new instruments. Then we use contact microphones, simple amplifiers and effects to enhance the sound and harmonies we find. With the new instruments we make new music together.
With the workshop we want to convey a appetite and curiosity for technology and music and contribute to increased self-confidence of the participants to test and experiment with different materials and music and explore further possibilites to create music.
The workshop will be guided by Anna Sóley Tryggvadóttir and Shida Shahabi.

Shida Shahabi , artist and composer based in Stockholm. She studied at the Royal College of Art and has after her education has been operating in performing arts- and music field by performing, writing and arranging music.
